Comprehensive harnessing is carried out relying on small flood retention dams and supporting flood discharge and water control facilities. The water retaining structure of the flood retention dam intercepts instantaneous flash flood runoff, slows down the flow velocity of gully water and weakens the scouring destructive force of mountain floods. Cooperated with supporting flood discharge gates and flood drainage facilities, the opening and closing status is dynamically adjusted based on flood season hydrological conditions to conduct graded water diversion and over-limit flood release for rapid drainage of accumulated water in gullies. This solution effectively addresses prominent problems in mountainous areas including rapid confluence of mountain floods, strong impact force and frequent overflow and erosion, stabilizes gully bank slopes, protects farmlands, roads and residential villages along the route, and improves the flood control and disaster prevention capacity of mountainous regions.
